Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson insists he wants to stay in management even after completing his final season at St James' Park.
Chairman Freddy Shepherd has confirmed Robson's contract will not be renewed at the end of the forthcoming campaign. But Robson, 71, said: "I'm not thinking about retiring. No way.
As long as I can do this job I will do it. "I'm not going into this season thinking this will be my last. I like what I'm doing and feel fit."
He added: "I'm as excited and positive as ever and I still have a bright and alert mind. "I still have ambitions and one of those burning ambitions is to bring silverware to Newcastle."
