Getting any information on this man is a nightmare, what is known about him is that he had been a Director of the football club in the mid 40's. Westwood was also a Director of Hornby and President of the Football League.
Westwood was Chairman of the football club when we last picked up a trophy which was worth winning, even then we only qualified through the back door. He was also Chairman of the football club when we last had a players uprising, Westwood gave in and appointed Richard Dinnis. Westwood was also involved in a ticket touting scandal when he promised 1951 FA Cup tickets to an MP, these tickets were included in a raffle before the police stepped in to stop the tickets becoming available.
Lord Westwood became the 2nd Lord Westwood on 13th September 1953 on the death of his Father. our Lord Westwood died on 8th November 1991 aged 83, the title passed to his Son William Gavin.
Our Aims
We could do with some help with fact finding for this man, hated as a Chairman but he seems to have been forgotten. Hornby did release a model Hall Class Locomotive in 1973 and 1974 called Lord Westwood.
